Review: Big Skincare Mystery!

Hi guys,

Quite an unusual post for you today.. I'm reviewing a product which offers absolutely no information on what brand is developing and creating it. It's all part of the Big Skincare Mystery, a marketing campaign run primarily through Facebook (you can have a little look at their page here) which promises to reveal all on 1st March 2012 about this exciting new skincare range. All you need to do is like their page on Facebook and apply for your free sample of the cleanser through there! According to the leaflet, the new range is supposed to give you "the perfect dose of strength and kindness, helping to keep your skin beautifully balanced and blemish free without the risk of over drying".

Excuse the marks - that was where the sample was :)

They state this can be used as a facial cleanser or as a mask if you leave on the skin for 3 minutes. I'd had a little look around at reviews and the general concensus seemed to be that the mask was more beneficial so, considering how teeeny this sampler was, I went for the mask. (Maybe I am a greedy product junkie, but I don't know how I'd get two uses out of this sampler!)

The smell of the product is lovely and the texture is smooth, thin enough to work with, but thick enough to really feel like it's doing something for your skin. I was apprehensive at first as usually I only go for products aimed at sensitive skin but I had no problems with this.. even as the mask began to set slightly, despite a slight tingling sensation it was absolutely fine. It was easy to wash off and.. I really didn't want to default rave about this, but it really is fab! My skin felt polished and smooth and every scrap of dirt was gone. The only criticism I'd have is that they don't suggest to use this on the eye area, so if you were to use this as a make-up remover you'd need an alternative for removing eye make-up.

I'd definitely recommend you all to give the sample a go, it's free so you're not losing out on anything and you're being given access to a brand new skincare range. Also, if you let them know what you think you could win a share of £1,000 of Topshop vouchers! Give it a pop with the link above if this tickles your fancy and let me know your opinions.

Hope you're all having a great day,
Colly xxx

February feelunique.com Beauty Box!

Helloo all,

This post may seem a little random as I haven't actually updated about feelunique.com Beauty Boxes since November! I have still been receiving them but boring life priorities like studying have got in the way of me updating on all the goodies (they have all been fab, I'm sure there are hundreds of reviews on blogspot of Dec and Jan if you fancy a peek). But here we go, I am back on the productive train and here is a little information on what is available in this month's edition..

February feelunique.com Beauty Box 2012
  • Elemis Lime and Ginger Hand and Body Wash - This sampler is a pretty generous 100ml, I was pleased with this one.. I have an Elemis sample given to me by a spa and it's teeny - I'm surprised they offer samples this size! For the full 300ml whack it will set you back £18.40. I've heard the occasional rave review about Elemis body washes, so perhaps worth the rather steep price tag.
  •  Philip Kingsley Elasticizer - I've never heard of a post shampoo treatment before (am I being dim here?) so I'm excited to give this one a go. Again, this 40ml isn't to be sniffed at.. the full product isn't even double that at 75ml and will cost you £12.25. A nice little bargain I think.
  •  Decleor Phytopeel Face Peel Cream - Yikes, the name of this makes me a little terrified for my sensitive skin. I am a big fan of Decleor though and have used a few of their products from the same Aroma Cleanse line. They have always been soothing and never caused me any irritation - fingers crossed for the same results here! The sampler is a bit of a weeny 15ml, but not bad considering the full sized 50ml tube is £23.40.
  •  Nuxe Hulle Prodigieuse Multi-Usage Dry Oil - I have absolutely no idea of this brand, so all I can go by is the description on feelunique's website. According to that you can mix this oil in with your foundation for a dewy finish (a tad bizarre but will have to try that), apply directly onto skin, in your hair, in your bath... I assume it's suitable for everything but your eyeballs so seems like a good all-rounder. Another thumbs up is that this oil is suitable for all skin types, even for little ones past the age of 36 months - so ideal for mums! The sample I've received is 10ml and for a 50ml bottle you'll be paying £17.00.
  •  Leighton Denny High Performance Colour - I really like this sample, it's a lovely gunmetal grey nail varnish called 'Steel Appeal' but I've noticed others have received different colours so I guess it is a bit of a lucky dip. Might do a NOTD when I try this one out! The sample is 4.5ml and for a 12ml bottle it will cost you £11.00.

So that's everything included in the box, bar one men's perfume sample from Jean Paul Gautier which  I gave away to my boyfriend. I have to say that was the only downside to this box.. all in all, a good month! You can subscribe to feelunique.com beauty boxes here at £9.95 per month.

Hope you're all well.. let me know about the beauty boxes you've been receiving! Colly xxx
